Prime Minister Najib Mikati has been following up since early morning on the counting process of the votes of the 2022 parliamentary elections, in presence of Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi and Justice Minister Henri Khoury.
Mikati expressed his satisfaction of the long election day, "the government has succeeded in achieving this entitlement despite the prevailing sharp political rift and tension," he said.
He noted “there were some breaches and violations that occurred on election day, but they could be dealt with by law."
"All the political forces to be represented in the Parliament must now resume the constitutional steps at the parliamentary and governmental levels in the nearest time possible," he added.
"Our government kept its promise and implemented its ministerial statement," he said, hoping all sides will cooperate in the upcoming stage.
