Lebanon health ministry seizes tons of medicines hidden in depots

Lebanon health ministry seized tons of medicines hidden in depots after the army had raid oil stations.

Health minister Hamad Hasan raided depots in Jadra and Akkabiya with security teams.

Teams seized tons of medicines including cancer, antibiotics, and chronic diseases medicines.

Hasan order selling all those medicines and baby food to pharmacies and citizens since Tuesday morning.

“I advise you to sell the medicine you have to pharmacies, as the electronic tracking system works well and with utmost accuracy,” Hassan said in a tweet later in the day.
“You will be obliged to present the exchange bills in accordance with the rules, and you will expose yourselves to what the perpetrators endured last night,” he added.

The Lebanese army on Aug. 14, had deployed soldiers in closed gas stations to stop fuel hoarding after the central bank's decision to end fuel subsidies sparked panic in the country.

The country has been unable to form a new administration since the resignation of Hassan Diab's Cabinet on Aug. 10, 2020 -- six days after a massive blast at the Beirut Port.
