MP Aoun: Lack of quorum expected at Constitutional Council's session

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun said on Tuesday that the Change and Reform bloc's weekly meeting tackled the issue of the Constitutional Council, expecting lack of quorum also throughout Friday's session.

MP Aoun noted that the bloc is committed to calm after submitting the appeal pertaining to the extension of the parliament's mandate, adding that the issue "was not discussed within the political sphere."

Aoun then slammed the latest speeches tackling Syria and Hezbollah saying "Lebanon has enough problems as it is".

He said that some parties should have defended Lebanon, but rather created a vacuum and called in gunmen "which led other forces to stand in their face."

MP Aoun noted that Lebanon's sovereignty is indivisible, saying that "political vacuum brought gunmen who, for their part provoked Hezbollah."
