MP Aoun: Tensions run high in Lebanon due to Syrian crisis

Change and Reform bloc MP Alain Aoun said on Friday that tensions run high in Lebanon due to the Syrian crisis, warning against dire repercussions on the country should the Syrian conflict continue.

In an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV Show, MP Aoun pointed out that Lebanon has entered a critical phase in light of the extension of the parliament's mandate, the failure to form a new government and the growing differences between the March 8 and March 14 coalitions.

In this regard, MP Aoun said that the failure to hold the parliamentary elections was not due to the security situation but to the lack of support from regional countries which are in a state of conflict in regards to the Syrian crisis.
