Mikati’s office: Lebanon’s position was the result of intensive deliberations

PM Najib Mikati’s media office issued a statement on Wednesday to respond to allegations published in several media outlets.

According to the statement, Lebanon’s position at the Cairo meeting was the result of intensive deliberations that gave priority to Lebanon’s interest.

The statement added that Lebanon has not rejected, through its position, the call for halting violence and resorting to dialogue as the sole means to stop violence. It has only voted against the suspension of Syria’s membership at the Arab League.
