MP el-Jisr to LBCI: Future bloc rejects armed presence in Tripoli

MP Samir el-Jisr asserted on Wednesday that Hezbollah's involvement in the fighting taking place in Syria will have "dangerous repercussions on Lebanon."

He also said that the Future bloc rejects all armed presence in Tripoli, urging the security apparatuses to restore peace and order in the city.

MP el-Jisr's statements came during an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV show, whereby he noted that Tripoli's incidents were caused by a small group of insurgents which the Lebanese army oppressed.

He also stressed that "the state of institutions" can be safeguarded by respecting its laws and constitution.

MP el-Jisr concluded by saying that protecting democracy in Lebanon is the main task of the Lebanese people and not the Lebanese Armed Forces.
