Soueid expresses March 14's keenness on Lebanon’s civil peace

March 14 Secretary General Fares Souaid said on Tuesday that Hezbollah is trying to impose its governmental preconditions following its explicit intervention in the Syrian crisis, and in the latest clashes that erupted in Sidon.

In this regard, Soueid said that March 14 forces are keen on Lebanon’s civil peace, adding that Hezbollah and the ‘other party’ are dragging the country toward the path of civil war.

Following the secretariat’s periodic meeting, Soueid expressed the forces’ support to Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam, adding that President Michel Sleiman has the support of the Lebanese people regarding the formation of the cabinet; however, the impediments are not technical but political.

Soueid stressed that the March14 forces scheduled next Sunday as a day to meet with Sidon’s residents, adding that this meeting will be in cooperation with the Future bloc, the Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya, and other Christian and Muslim political parties in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon.
