REPORT: Amputated penis as a penalty for eloping

Sources told LBCI on Tuesday that a Lebanese national identified as Rabih A. who hails from the region of Akkar was admitted to hospital in Kaber Shamoun after being severely beaten and after having his penis amputated.

Sources added that the resident married a few weeks ago a young woman from Aley despite the objection of her parents.

On Monday, the victim received a phone call from his wife's family saying that they finally agreed to their marriage, and asking for a reconciliation lunch. However after finally meeting Rabih, the family forcefully beat the man and cut off his penis.

It is worth mentioning that political figures have since intervened in the case, voicing their condemnation.
