Nahhas to LBCI: Disbursing the funds should be codified

Caretaker Minister of Economy Nicolas Nahhas said on Saturday that the Lebanese state has reached the financial level set for paying the salaries of employees at the public sector, stressing that the financial capacity is available; however, it should be codified.

Nahhas added that a draft law that stipulates raising the level of disbursing funds is required in light of existing laws.

Minister Nahhas told LBCI during Nharkom Said that the current financial level is 18 million LBP; however, 21 million LBP are needed, pointing out that the value difference used to be taken from the budget reserve.

Nahhas considered that Caretaker Prime minister Najib Mikati, and House Speaker Nabih Berri should hold a meeting to discuss whether the parliament may legislate a law for the aforementioned file in light of a caretaker cabinet, emphasizing that this file should be solved before September.
