Charbel: There will be no security privatization in Tripoli

   
Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel stressed on Wednesday that the security apparatuses will not allow any security violations to take place whether in Tripoli or any other region, noting that “the protection granted by political parties is present everywhere, not only in the Beirut Southern Suburbs.”              

Ahead of the Central Security Council’s meeting, Charbel stressed that “a security privatization will not take place in Tripoli,” pointing out that the situation in the city is stable but not reassuring and calling on the security forces to strike with an iron fist to control the city.                    

However, Charbel said that today’s meeting will aim at finalizing the security plan set to be implemented in Tripoli and which aims at ending the activities of the security violators and abusers.                    

On another note, the caretaker minister said that the Judicial Council has carefully studied the verdicts issued in the case of the Tal and al-Bahsas crimes perpetrated in 2008, calling on the Lebanese judiciary not to release any suspect.
