One person killed, another injured in clashes between Zaayter clan and Hjoula family

Clashes erupted on Wednesday in the region of Laylaki in the Beirut Southern Suburbs between members of the Zaayter clan and the Hjoula family, whereby several types of weapons were used.

The violence led to the death of citizen Mahdi Nassif Zaayet who succumbed to his wounds and the injury of Firas Zaayter. It also caused the eruption of a fire at a nearby gas station.

Accordingly, Lebanese Armed Forces deployed in the area in order to control the situation between the two sides.
