Kataeb party calls for restoring the state authority

The Kataeb party called Monday on authorities to take immediate and exceptional measures aiming at restoring the power of the state and the command to the legitimate security forces.

The party denounced the abduction of the Turkish pilots on the airport road saying: “The abduction is a blow targeting the authority of the state and threatens the general security situation in the country."

Following its weekly meeting, the political bureau of the Kataeb party urged the state to “free the airport from the rule of private arms” and control the security chaos, stressing the need to put an end to the logic of consensual and negotiable security and to impose security in Beirut and across the country in a bid to save Lebanon’s reputation and restore the confidence of the International Community.

The party called for the formation of a “crisis cell” tasked with following up on the case of the Lebanese hostages held in Aazaz, stressing the need to be firm in dealing with the frequent incidents taking place in several regions that may drag Lebanon into sectarian conflicts.
