MP Hariri says speech of Nasrallah drags Lebanon further into Syrian turmoil

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri denounced on Saturday the ‪Roueis explosion, adding however that "Hezbollah's participation in ‪Syria's war is a crime of a similar kind".

MP Hariri commented on the speech delivered by Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, noting that the latter contradicted himself "when asking people to exercise restraint and declaring he will personally go to Syria to fight against the terrorist Takfirist groups if need be".

"Should Hezbollah want to combat terrorism, the group must seek the Lebanese people's approval instead of taking the decision of waging a war alongside Syrian President Bashar al-Assad," MP Hariri said.

MP Hariri also noted that sedition is the most dangerous kind of terrorism, stressing that "the speech of Sayyed Nasrallah drags Lebanon further into the Syrian turmoil".

On August 15, a powerful car bomb tore through the Beirut Southern Suburbs' region of Roueis, a stronghold of Hezbollah, claiming the lives of 27 civilians and leaving more than 289 wounded, some of whom are still receiving treatment.
