Lebanese Diva Majida al Roumi denies reports claiming she received Bahraini citizenship

Lebanese Diva Majida al Roumi denied on Tuesday reports claiming that she was granted the Bahraini citizenship.

Roumi told the state-run National News Agency (NNA) that she will be raising complaints against all those who "harmed her morally", adding that each person has the right to express his/her view point without affecting the patriotism of others.

Roumi added that an explanatory statement will be issued by her media office regarding this issue.

For his part, the official spokesman of the Bahraini government denied in the name of the government that Bahrain granted its citizenship to Majida al Roumi

The Lebanese Diva praised on Saturday during her concert in the Bahrain summer festival the Bahraini regime which is, according to her, "fighting the dark forces".

Bahrain has been witnessing unrest since February 2011 when the country's opposition launched an uprising.
