President Sleiman calls on military and security authorities to raise their alert level

President Michel Sleiman delivered on Saturday a televised speech whereby he extended his condolences to the families of the victims who were killed in the twin blasts that targeted Lebanon's northern city of Tripoli.

In this regard, Sleiman called on the military and security authorities to raise their alert level in order to pursue the criminals, urging the Lebanese citizens to remain calm and to cooperate with the security apparatuses.

President Sleiman also called on all the Lebanese parties to abide by the Baabda Declaration and to hold dialogue without preconditions.

This as President Sleiman met with heads of security apparatuses, the head of the Internal Security Forces Information Branch Colonel Imad Othman, caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel and caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
