EU’s Eichhorst: We should await the UN’s decision on Syria

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati held a meeting on Wednesday afternoon with the EU Ambassador to Lebanon, Angelina Eichhorst with talks featuring high on the local and regional developments.

Following the meeting at the Grand Serail, Eichhorst confirmed the European Union’s support to the efforts exerted by Mikati and other Lebanese authorities to preserve Lebanon’s security.

On the Syrian file, the EU Ambassador noted that the EU considers a political settlement in Syria paramount and said: “We must await the United Nations’ decision and the current investigations’ findings”.
