British embassy calls on nationals to avoid travel to Lebanon

The British embassy in Lebanon has issued a warning on all its citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon, calling on all British nationals to boycott Beirut as a destination unless highly essential.

As for British nationals already in the country, the embassy advised them to consider whether it is necessary that they remain in Lebanon during the upcoming period.

The British embassy stressed that this is a temporary measure that relates to the recent upsurge in violence, and tensions in the region amid threats that a military action could be carried out against neighboring Syria.
