Hezbollah: Sanctions against Syria violate League’s charter

Hezbollah considered that the economic sanctions approved by the Arab League against Syria violate the League’s charter. In a statement, the party said that these sanctions are a retaliatory act against entire populations given that countries are intertwined and their interests interrelated.

“These sanctions will have a negative impact on the Syrian people”, the statement said, adding that they are enshrined in the framework of a U.S. policy that serves American projects in the region.
