Torsarkissian to LBCI: I am against Mikati and his cabinet

Future bloc MP Serge Torsakissian congratulated Speaker Nabih Berri for masterminding the scenario of funding the STL, adding that if it hadn’t been for Berri the cabinet wouldn’t have funded the Tribunal.

“The fact that the cabinet resorted to funds earmarked to the Higher Relief Commission, [which seen as illegal], means that the cabinet has collapsed”, Torsarkissian told Nharkom Said TV show.

Torsarkissian announced that he is against Mikati and any decision taken by the government.

Torsarkissian stressed that former PM Saad Hariri’s odds were stacked since he did not garner the support of all parties before, adding that the case is different today since all parties wish to make a success of Mikati’s cabinet.

“Mikati was subjected to mounting pressures from the people of his own sect and from the international community, which pushed him to cling on to his cabinet”, Torsarkissian said.
