MP Jumblat: Deployment of security forces in the Dahieh region proves state cannot be replaced

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat hailed on Monday the plan to deploy security forces in the Dahieh region.

He also noted that the deployment of security forces shows that "the Lebanese state cannot be replaced."

MP Jumblat stressed the need for Lebanese factions to put an end for the political deadlock in Lebanon that will also "further bolster security."

He also called for the swift formation of a new government in order to spare the country political vacuum prior to next year's presidential election.

A force of 100 General Security members, 300 soldiers and 400 Internal Security Forces personnel is set to deploy in the Dahieh region on Monday.

The step aims at ending Hezbollah self imposed security following two deadly explosions that targeted its stronghold in the suburbs.
