Progressive Socialist Party Leader MP Walid Jumblatt said on Monday that "the Syrian army that scored heroic victories during the October war is currently taking orders from a president who suffers from mental disorders."
MP Jumblatt added that "President Bashar Assad insisted since the very beginning of the war that he is fighting against terrorism; however, he is refusing to meet the legitimate demands of the Syrian people."
In his weekly editorial posted in the PSP newspaper, Al-Anbaa, MP Jumblatt criticized President Assad's will for running for the upcoming presidential elections, considering that "his candidacy will run over the human remains of the Syrian people and the ruins of cities and destroyed villages, and will be at the expense of millions of displaced, detaineed and missing persons."
On another note, MP Jumblatt said that some forces are adopting a systematic policy to sabotage the Egyptian national security, adding that these forces are resorting to the use of weapons and are destroying the country.
