Israel foresees war with Lebanon, says Assad fall will weaken Hezbollah

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that military measures undertaken by Syria are a demonstration of force stemming from weaknesses and not from high self-esteem, adding that the Al Assad family is losing itself.

During a visit to the Golan, Barak said that President Bashar Assad is bound to fall, adding that Assad’s fall will not only undermine radicalism but will also weaken Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Former head of military Intelligence Amos Yadlin said that he expects that a third war with Lebanon might erupt because of the latest developments witnessed by the region and in Syria.

During a conference held in the Institute for National Security Studies, Yadlin added that in the upcoming period, Gaza Strip will also see unprecedented military preparations.
