Loyalty to the Resistance bloc stressed on Thursday that the assassination of Senior Hezbollah commander Hassan al-Laqis is a "Zionist attack" targeting the resistance.
Al-Laqis was assassinated outside his home in southern Beirut late Tuesday.
Following its weekly meeting, the bloc stressed that the "chaotic security situation in Tripoli is due to March 14 alliance's support to hard-line groups in the northern city.
The bloc also said that the sole solution for Tripoli's crisis is dialogue, urging March 14 alliance to assume its national responsibilities and to lift the cover on the said groups.
Disputes from neighboring Syria's civil war frequently inflame sectarian grievances in Tripoli. These clashes pit gunmen from both the mostly Sunni Bab al-Tebbaneh district and the Jabal Mohsen district which mostly comprises residents of Syrian President Bashar Assad's Alawite sect, a Shiite Islam offshoot.
