MP Hbeich says Kobayat’s disputed land returned, registered under Maronite League members’ name

Future Movement MP Hadi Hbeich announced on Saturday that the land that was sold two years ago and caused a dispute in the town of Kobayat has been returned and registered under the name of some members of the Maronite League.

“I intervened personally to solve the issue in addition to a large number of officials headed by President Michel Sleiman, Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Rai and former Prime Minister Saad Hariri,” said Hbeich in his press conference.

Hbeich also pointed that the real estate sales issue and preservation comes from an identity conservation concern, assuring that things went back to normal between Kobayat and old Akkar.
