Mansour: 45 Lebanese returned from Juba, the remaining chose to stay there

Caretaker Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour said Sunday that 45 Lebanese nationals, coming from Juba arrived to Beirut on Saturday night on board Egyptian airlines, “due to the contacts held by the foreign ministry with Lebanese people residing in Juba, mainly with the business man Ali Merhi,” as he said.

In this context, Mansour said that the foreign ministry had contacted the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut calling for its contribution in helping the Lebanese nationals who want to leave South Sudan, noting that the Egyptian ambassador showed all support with the request.

However, the caretaker minister said that the number of Lebanese nationals who chose to stay in Juba does not exceed 50 people.
