Body of Starco explosion victim transported to hometown
       
The body of citizen Anwar Badawi who was killed in the Starco explosion arrived on Monday to the region of Hadath amid an atmosphere of grief and sorrow.      

The death toll from Friday’s car bombing in Beirut that claimed the life of former Minister Mohammad Chatah rose to eight on Sunday following the death of Anwar Badawi, a man who was wounded in the explosion.             

Badawi, who suffered head injuries, succumbed to this wounds early on Sunday after he was in a coma at the American University of Beirut Medical Center.            

Anwar Badawi (1965) was a taxi driver who was heading on Friday from Sin El Fil to Phoenicia Hotel.              

An explosion rocked the Lebanese capital Beirut on Friday, December 27, targeting the convoy of former minister Mohammad Chatah who was on his way to attend a meeting of the March 14 coalition at Beit al-Wasat when the explosion occurred.                 

About 70 people were also injured in the explosion.
