Why was "Beirut Hotel" censored?

According to the General Security (GS) the Lebanese director Danielle Arbid’s latest film, “Beirut Hotel,” has been banned from Lebanon because it mentions the assassination of ex-Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and maintain other sectarian purposes.

The producer agreed with the GS that Hariri's name would be omitted from the script to evade raising any tensions. The source continued that the line, which he said both General Security and the Information Ministry’s censorship committee objected to, was included in the final version of the film.

The movie discusses the Lebanese political life after Hariri’s assassination where Ali, a young man from Beirut’s suburb, establish a relationship with the daughter of the French Ambassador to Beirut providing her with drugs, as a mean to find his way out of Lebanon seeking refuge in France.

In the movie, Ali has information about the assassination of the former PM Hariri.

The movie contains strong sexual scenes described as being for adults only; here we raise a question, is the GS allowed in the 21st century amid all internet progress and globalization to censure such a movie and ban it from the Lebanese theaters?
