Assir to LAF chief: Stop hiding behind the law and state’s authority

Ahmad Assir called Monday on the Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Jean Qahwaji to stop hiding behind the law, the state’s authority and the army, adding that “these are weak and repugnant excuses, which, as everybody knows, guarantee the road to Baabda.”

Assir said via twitter that “all the Lebanese people are aware that the army is working, day and night, to secure Hezbollah’s self-imposed security, mainly in Hermel, Dahieh and the South.”

“Is it lawful to shell residential buildings with tanks, and to refuse ceasefire to evacuate civilians and injured people?” he asked.
