Gemayel: Conflicts should be handled in a democratic manner

Kataeb Party Leader Amine Gemayel expressed his hope on Sunday that the new cabinet achieves the minimum aspirations of the Lebanese people, pointing out that the Kataeb party facilitated the formation of the cabinet since it rejects void.

Gemayel praised in a press conference the sacrifices made by former Prime Minister Saad Hariri in order to form the cabinet, adding that the latest speech delivered by Hariri complies with the constants of the Kataeb party.

“Despite of the differences, the cabinet should consolidate among its components to maintain Lebanon’s stability and prepare for the upcoming entitlements,” Gemayel said.

Gemayel also emphasized that the Kataeb Party will not disregard national issues, and will exert efforts in order to come up with a governmental statement that meets the aspirations of the people.

“We disagree with Hezbollah, but we will not be afraid of confronting it at the cabinet,” Gemayel said, adding that conflicts should be moved from the streets and should be political and handled in a democratic manner.
