MP Jumblatt hails formation of an all-embracing cabinet

Progressive Socialist Party Leader MP Walid Jumblatt hailed on Monday the formation of the government, pointing out that negotiations resulted in the formation of an all-embracing cabinet.  

In his weekly editorial published in the PSP - affiliated al-Anbaa website, MP Jumblatt expressed his hope that the new cabinet resolve political disputes by taking them from the street to the cabinet table.  

In this regard, Jumblatt noted that disputes have become deep-rooted; pointing out that calming the political and media rhetoric is essential until the circumstances become suitable enough to reach radical solutions for pending issues.  

MP Jumblatt remarked that pending issues include preparation for the upcoming presidential elections in order to avoid any presidential vacuum, in addition to addressing the terrorist and security threats facing Lebanon.  

Lebanon announced on February 15 the formation of a new government after more than 10 months of political deadlock.   

Following the announcement of the new cabinet, Prime Minister Tammam Salam stressed the importance of creating a positive atmosphere to resume national dialogue in order to resolve all pending issues under the auspices of President Michel Sleiman.
