Economic bodies refuse wage hike decision, describe it as a coup
The head of the economic bodies Adnan Kassar said that the cabinet’s wage hike decision is a severe blow to institutions, adding that it was the result of a “coup” against the signed consensual agreement reached by employers and employees after arduous consultations.

Kassar said that the decision is pure political and free of any socio-economic considerations.

“Productive institutions will not be able to bear it; they will be compelled not to apply it for its damages will not only affect employers, but also employees who will see a large number of institutions close down, and others decrease the number of their employees”, he said.
