Daouk to LBCI: Shura Council will reject wage decree
Information Minister Walid Daouk said he expects the Shura Council to reject the wage adjustment decree submitted by Labor Minister Charbel Nahas and approved by the cabinet during its last session, for “it includes many contraventions”. “Things will go back to square one”, he said.

Daouk told Nharkom Said that workers did not benefit from this raise, especially during this holiday season amid the soaring commodity prices. “When politics intervene, everything is ruined”, he said.

On the infiltration of Qaeda members from Lebanon into Syria, Daouk said that Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn informed the government about this, assuring that the LAF is in control and will deter any infiltration attempt.

On Lebanon’s participation to the Arab monitoring mission to Syria, Daouk said that the government did not take a decision yet, urging it to disassociate Lebanon from the Syrian crisis.
