Minister Abou Faour launches national vaccination campaign against polio

Minister of Health Wael Abou Faour declared on Tuesday the launching of the comprehensive national vaccination campaign against polio.

He also noted that the campaign achieved several accomplishments, mainly by declaring Lebanon as polio free country since more than 12 years ago.

Abou Faour concluded by saying that two other campaigns were launched earlier to address polio following the confirmation of 25 cases among Syria refugees children.

Polio is endemic in just three countries - Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan, but sporadic cases occur in other countries.
