MP Zahra to LBCI: Hezbollah's project is bigger than Lebanon

MP Antoine Zahra said on Wednesday that Hezbollah's project "is bigger than Lebanon."

He also added that the party isn't ready to adopt the Baabda declaration or give up its role as the country's resistance.

Zahra's comments were made during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show in which he reiterated the importance of the Baabda Declaration, urging for adopting a national defense strategy.

Asked about the "standoff" between Minister of Justice Ashraf Rifi and al-Akhbar newspaper , Zahra noted that the freedom of speech "does not mean defaming the presidency."

Minister of Justice Ashraf Rifi referred on Tuesday an article written by journalist Ibrahim al-Amin of al-Akhbar daily to the Sate Prosecution for slandering Lebanese President Michel Sleiman.

Rifi said al-Amin wrote an article "with too many expressions of offense, defamation, and slander against the President of the Republic Michel Sleiman."
