President Sleiman says politicians should apologize to Lebanese people

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman said on Tuesday that the Baabda declaration serves the independence of Lebanon, pointing out that politicians should apologize to the Lebanese people over their failure in implementing decisions reached during national dialogue sessions.

At an awards ceremony held at the Baabda Presidential Palace, President Sleiman noted that the international community agreed on the provisions of the Baabda Declaration as a general policy for Lebanon, considering that those hindering the implementation of the said declaration are obstructing the international aid to Lebanon.

In this regard, Sleiman stated that the Saudi grant to the Lebanese Army is the greatest support to Lebanon since the independence.
