PM Salam says cabinet will take extraordinary measures to combat terrorism

Prime Minister Tammam Salam said on Wednesday that the cabinet will take extraordinary measures to combat terrorism and will continue to bolster the capabilities of the Lebanese army and security forces.

"We will expedite the process of arming the Lebanese Armed Forces," Salam said during a speech he delivered at the opening of the parliamentary session to discuss the policy statement.

Salam also stressed that the cabinet will work on passing the budget draft law while taking all necessary measures to address the people's living conditions.

"The cabinet will work to settle the Syrian refugee issue, implement the decisions of the International Support Group for Lebanon and abide by the UN resolution 1701 as well as the dissociation policy.

"Our government confirms the duty of the state to liberate the Shebaa Farms and Kfar Shuba Hills while emphasizing the Lebanese people's right to fight against the Israeli aggression," Salam added.
