REPORT: Bomb used in Arsal suicide attack weighs at around 150 KG

Cautious calm prevailed on Sunday in the border town of Arsal following the explosion that targeted a Lebanese Armed Forces checkpoint in the Wadi Ata area.

In this regard, sources told LBCI that the bomb used in Arsal suicide attack weighs between 100 and 150 Kilograms.

A suicide bomber in an explosives-laden car targeted a Lebanese army checkpoint near the Syrian border on Saturday evening, killing three soldiers, the Lebanese military said.

The attack in the Wadi Ata area near the eastern border town of Arsal came after forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad routed rebels from two Syrian villages lying just across the border.
