Session of joint committees tasked with discussing Pay Scale adjourned until Monday
The session of the joint committees tasked with discussing series of ranks and salaries was adjourned until Monday at 10:30 am.

In this regard, Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil said that the previous accumulations that disregarded the inflation rates and price increase, led to this increase in the size of the series, noting that serious efforts will be exerted to ensure the needed incomes.

The minister’s remarks came during a press conference held at the Parliament following the session.

For his part, MP Ibrahim Kanaan stressed that the ranks and salaries series is a rightful demand, pointing out that the funding is among the responsibilities of the cabinet in coordination with the parliament.

In this context, Kanaan said that the positive outcome can result from the cooperation with the finance ministry in this matter, stating that a remarkable progress was registered by the approval of seven items.

However, sources reported that a verbal clash and loud disputes erupted between Minister Ali Hassan Khalil and MP Kanaan.
