Army units heighten security measures in Lebanon's Bekaa

The Lebanese Armed Forces are proceeding on Friday with the implementation of the Bekaa security plan which aims to arrest dangerous fugitives and restore calm to a region that has bore witness to several attempts at inciting strife.

Army units raided on Thursday the whereabouts of several wanted men in the Bekaa town of Britel and arrested a man identified by his initials as A. M. on kidnapping charges.

The LAF also raided homes suspected of harboring fugitives, arrested a wanted man (N.M.) in the town of Hawrtaala and seized two stolen vehicles.

Investigations were launched with the detainees under the supervision of the concerned judiciary.
