Former minister Azour to LBCI: Pay scale suffers considerable flaws
Former Finance Minister Jihad Azour stressed Thursday that the series of ranks and salaries is a program to introduce hierarchy within the state, not to determine the salary of an employee, noting that “for this reason the series has been politicized and divided between two parties.”

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Azour explained that the series suffers considerable flaws in terms of salary payment methods, deeming the fact that a manager gets paid less than a school teacher as unacceptable.

In this regard, the former minister said that he supports settlement and wage reform, but in the right way, “especially after a remarkable number of items in the series draft law have not yet been discussed.”
