Bus drivers stage sit-in over illegal competition

Bus drivers staged on Saturday a brief protest near the old Airport road in Beirut, demanding the government to take action against what they called as “illegal competition.”

Around 50 drivers who gathered at 9:00 a.m. said that foreign drivers, mainly Syrians, were illegally working in the country and using vehicles without Lebanese license plates.

They asked the concerned ministries to put an end what they described as "illegal competition eating away at their livelihood."
