Future Bloc: March 8 forces should name own presidential candidate

The Future Bloc expressed on Tuesday its discontent with the path followed by March 8 forces regarding the presidential elections, mainly the position of Hezbollah, expressing its concern over the group's boycott of the parliamentary session.

The bloc reiterated its support to its presidential candidate, Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea, and called on the March 8 alliance to nominate a candidate and run the electoral competition to elect a president.

In this regard, the bloc stated that void at the presidential level is unjustifiable and breaches the Lebanese constitution as well as the will of Lebanese citizens to adhere to a democratic system based on the rotation of power.

It also lauded the stance of Future Movement Leader former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora in which he expressed his support and gratitude to the efforts of Lebanese President Michel Sleiman.

In comments on the indictment issued in the dossier of the twin blasts that targeted the al-Taqwa and al-Salam mosques in Tripoli, the Future bloc called for arresting all those involved in the blast and for criminalizing perpetrators without any delay.

On another note, the Future Bloc expressed its support to all measures and decisions implemented by the Ministry of Telecommunication since Minister Boutros Harb assumed power from his predecessor.
