UN’s Plumbly praises Sleiman’s leadership over past six years

United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Derek Plumbly praised Monday the leadership of former President Michel Sleiman during the past six years, stressing that Sleiman was loyal to Lebanon’s unity and stability and maintained the country’s security, despite the conflict in Syria.

Plumbly regretted the Lebanese Parliament's failure to elect a new president within the constitutional deadline; calling on the leaders to double their efforts in order to solve this issue the soonest possible.
