Following his meeting with Prime Minister Tammam Salam, Minister Bou Saab stated that he discussed with Salam certain matters pertaining to the full-time employment of contract teachers at the Lebanese University, expressing his hope that the said issue would be resolved before the exams scheduled for the 7th of June.
The Lebanese University contract professors staged on Wednesday a sit-in at the Riad al-Solh Square in order to urge the authorities to grant them full-time employment.
In a statement read during the sit-in, the protesters stressed that they will not return to the university until they are granted permanent tenure, calling on PM Salam to approve a draft law pertaining to their situation in the upcoming cabinet session.
