Future bloc urges March 8 coalition to nominate own candidate for presidential elections
The Future bloc urged on Tuesday Lebanese lawmakers to be committed to their constitutional duties and elect a new president in the upcoming parliamentary session.

The bloc also stressed the need to end the deadlock over the presidential elections amid the current power vacuum.

“The solution lies in the hands of those disrupting this entitlement, i.e. the March 8 forces which have been abstaining from participating in presidential election sessions,” the Future bloc said during its weekly meeting.

In this regard, the bloc reiterated its support, alongside the March 14 coalition, for the candidacy of Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea.

The Future bloc also urged the March 8 coalition to nominate its own candidate or agree on a consensus figure, rather than boycotting parliamentary sessions.
