STL holds witness hearing session
The Special Tribunal for Lebanon held on Wednesday a hearing session for witnesses before the Trial Chamber.

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon was set up by the United Nations at the Lebanese government's request to try the alleged perpetrators of the 2005 bombing in which former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and 21 others were killed.

The five suspects, who are being tried in absentia, are Merhi, Mustafa Badreddine, Salim Ayyash, Assad Sabra and Hassan Oneissi. They are all Hezbollah members.

The party denies involvement in the assassination and its leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has denounced the court as a conspiracy by his enemies, the U.S. and Israel.
