Drowned Syrian national dies after being pulled from Sidon seawaters

A Syrian national identified as Rajab Qassem, 37, was pulled on Sunday by Civil Defense teams from seawaters of Sidon and rushed to hospital where he later succumbed to his wounds.

Civil Defense maritime rescue unit launched on Sunday a search operation for three missing persons believed to have drowned.

6-year-old Ghayth Mustafa Silo went missing in the town of al-Akaybeh, 15-year old Ali Khalaf Berro in Jal El Dib and Rajab Qassem in Sidon.

No further details were provided.
