Israeli soldiers abduct shepherd from Shebaa
An Israeli infantry unit kidnapped on Wednesday a shepherd from the southern border town of Shebaa one day after two shepherds escaped when Israeli soldiers seized their flock of goats.

The state-run National News Agency identified the shepherd as Ismail Khalil Nabaa who was kidnapped and taken to the occupied Shebaa Farms region at dawn Wednesday.

The agency added that the United Nations peacekeepers held contacts with the Israeli army to release Nabaa.

On Tuesday, Israeli soldiers seized a goat flock belonging to shepherds Mohammed Khalil Nabaa and Khodr Hamdan from the Sadana mountain heights in Shebaa.

The flock was taken to the Shebaa Farms, the shepherds however managed to escape.

The Shebaa Farms, a mountainous sliver of land is located at the junction of southeast Lebanon, southwest Syria and northern Israel.

The area has been occupied by Israel since the 1967 Middle East war. Israel has previously detained Lebanese nationals in the disputed border area.
