Minister al-Mashnouq calls from Moscow for arming ISF

Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq kicked off Friday his official visit to Russia, accompanied by a security delegation.

Upon his arrival, al-Mashnouq met with the Russian deputy Foreign Minister Michael Bogdanov at the Foreign Ministry, where they discussed the regional situation and the latest developments.

During the meeting, al-Mashnouq called on the Russian authorities to provide Lebanon with logistical and military support in order to equip the Internal Security Forces and the General Security.

Later, the interior minister and his accompanying delegation headed to the Russian Interior Ministry where they met with Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, who called for Lebanon’s support to Russia’s candidate to the Interpol Executive Committee, and expressed his country’s willingness to train Lebanese officers at the National Police Academy in order to pursue their fight against terrorism.
