LF leader Geagea says cabinet bid to release kidnapped troops will not pay off
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said on Friday that all efforts being exerted by the cabinet to release the kidnapped troops will not pay off.

"The soldiers could be released by one of two choices: the cabinet should take a quick decision to withdraw Hezbollah fighters from Syria or the government should order a direct military campaign to free them by force," he said via Twitter.

"The operation requires a full coordination with the international coalition against the Islamic State group," Geagea noted.

On another note, Geagea said the most powerful president to be elected in Lebanon is someone backed by the Lebanese Forces and the Free Patriotic Movement as well as the remaining Christian parties.

"The weakest president ever would be elected should the boycott of presidential election sessions continue," he warned, urging all parties to agree on a head of state the soonest possible.
